- Grounding. Every AI call sends a structured snapshot of the current state of the site — top headlines, country risk index, active alerts, market levels — into the prompt.
- Constraints. The model is instructed to stay factual, neutral, short, and to refuse speculation outside the snapshot.
- Provider chain. Requests run through a free-tier model first, with automatic fallback to a paid frontier model if upstream is rate-limited or unavailable.
- Caching. The hourly World Brief is cached on disk to avoid spending quota on every page load. The Analyst chat is not cached — each reply is fresh.
- Markdown. If the AI returns a markdown table or list, we render it as proper HTML — no raw asterisks in the UI.
User guide
A 5-minute orientation to every section of the site. Where it says AI, that feature is powered by a large language model — read the AI section below for what that means in practice.
AI features at a glance
Four places on the site are AI-powered. Anywhere you see the AI badge, a language model is involved. Anything not badged is straight data — no AI in the loop.
On the homepage right panel. A 2-paragraph synthesis of the top 12 cross-source headlines, regenerated every hour. The brief is grounded only on the real headlines — no opinion is added.
Below the World Brief. A theatre-by-theatre snapshot (Iran, East EU, Red Sea, Taiwan, Sahel) showing current posture severity and trajectory.
On the Flights page. Type natural-language queries like fly LON DXB, status BA275, airport CDG — AI returns a compact briefing.

435+ verified RSS sources organised into 15 categories. Use the category pill bar to filter. Each card shows the source, time, headline and (where available) a featured image.
Critical signals synthesised from cross-stream correlation: maritime interdictions, grey-zone activity, displacement events, seismic, financial.
Live global ADS-B map, closed airspace inventory, top global hubs, and the AI Aviation Command Bar for route / airport / flight queries.
